ot be inducted, It ee stated that Colonel KOPETZKY advised the board members
‘and Colonel McDEPMOTT that in his opinion there is no chance whatever of the Arny
— accepting the registrant no matter what the Local Board's thoughts were on the
subject or what steps they would take in the matter.
A letter dated December 14, 1943 from 1OU WOLFSON, Overseas Department, U.S.0.
Camp Shows, Inc., to the Local Board, requested permiasion for the abject to
depart for overseas duty.
On the bottom of this letter is the notation "Permission denied 12/16/43
Entire board." - <-
Letter dated December 16, 1943 from the Local Board to LOU WOLFSON, in
eudstance denies permiasion for subject te leave the country.

») c McDERMOTT that the following motion was passed by the Local Board October 16, 1943.

Order Ko. 1758, to leave the country for U.8.0. at request of 0.8.0, Camp Shows
Inc. Basis of denial--best interest of country would not be served by registrant
being permitted to entertain mombera of the Armed Forces in foreign zones. Neither
his physical or mental condition or attitude tend to show that the morale of the armed
forces would be benefitted by hie performances before them, as a civilian."
