DPTIONAL FORM NO. 16 .

GSA FPMR (41 CFR) 101411.6
UNITED STATES GOVERNMENT
Memorandum
00; Seattle
On May 10, 1972, the “Seattle Flag", a iftberal
newspaper in Seattle, ran an article ‘concerning this
TO SAC, SEATTLE (164=+81) (P) pate: 2/16/73 bé
SUBJECT: NORJAK
matter, In the article the "Flag" editor reportedly
had a conversation with an individual who claimed to
be identical with unsub in this matter. As part of the
evidence to substantiate his claim, unsub reportedly made
available xerox copies of a $20 bill which was
reportedly
part of the ransom money. The serial number on this bill
was L51279635A, series 1969.
It is noted that the serial number of the $20
bill used in the Seattle "Flag" article is identical with
the $20 bill recently obtained from Secret Service, who
in turn obtained it from a local Seattle service station.
This $20 bill was passed by a white female who
apparently
did not know of the alteration that had been made to it.
The last three digits in the serial number have been changed
by cutting out three digits from a $1 bill and
them into a $20 bill, using scotch tape.
