In accordance with the request of the Seattie Office 8/7/72, a color artist's conception was prepared and forwarded to the Seattle Office. To date the Bureau has received no evaluation of this color sketch. Seattie' reguest for mats will not be further considered until the Bureau receives an evaluation by the witnesses of the color sketch, (This line for LEFT MARGIN.) - For the information of the Seattle Office, commercial engravers charge $10 per 50 minutes plus an initial charge of $8 for a 4" x 5" plate. These mats will only reproduce in black and white. Many publishers both large and small presently use the offset printing process which does not require a mat. The Seattle Office should Geomptly coordinate review of the Bureau's color sketch for the purpose of evaluation.
