HENRY SHUTZ called from the Bureau. He wanted to
know what the General's decision was. I said that the latest
information I had was that during a meeting with the General
he was favorably disposed but wanted to check with Washin-
ton. I told him if there had been any decision reached,
Iwas not aware of it, and asked if he wanted you to call
him. He said no, it was nearing the end of the day in
Washington, but he simply wanted you to know if you had any
questions or any trouble, to call him over the weekend so
he could get somebody working at the Washington end of
the situation.
