Enclosed ig one copy of a letter and the
envelope in which it was mailed, received this date by
the Managing Editor of the Seattle Times Newspaper,
Seattle, Washington,
Instaut letter is signed D. B. COOPER and
indicates that copies of that letter wore sent to the
Nashington Post, the New York Timez and the Lom Angeles
CS.
‘The writer of tha letter claims, among other
things, that he is not a boasting man; that ha left no
fingerprints, that he wore 2 toupee; and that he wore
putty make-up. '
The letter itself was possibly handled by two — >

The Laboratory is requegted to make su examination
o£ the enclosed letter, in order to determine any similar
letters that have been forwarded. ‘The Laboratory is also
requested to determine if the paper on which the letter is
written could concoivably be from Povernnent stock, noting
that it xesembles the carbon copy of the airtel material
used by the Field Offices,
. It is also requested that the enclosed letter
and envelope bo processed for latent fingerprints.
WFO, Now York and Los Angeles have also been
requested to obtain the copies of these letters sent to
the indicated newspapers and forward them to the Bureau.
