known that the Statute of Limitations in this particular
matter is expected to run on 11/24/76, the fifth anniversary
of the crime. | .

The original amount received in the extortion
was $200,000. ‘The adjusted gross income for the year 1971 ;
would be $197,825.00. The tax liability on the first ‘
$100,000 of this anount would be $53,090.00. The tax %
Liability on the remaining $97,825, 00 would be $68,478.00
for a total tax Liability for 1971 of $121,568.00. x
In addition to the above, the penalty for not
having paid an estimated income tax withholding for the
last quarter of 1971 would be $1,459.00, The penalty for
failure to pay this estimated tax withholding would be
$27,352.00.
Since the extortionist did not file a return
for the year 1971, the penalty for failure to file would
be $30,392.00,
e interest on the above taxes and penalties
as of 11/24/76, will be $36,752.00,
