By communication dated October’ 10, 1975, the
Los Angeles Division advised as follows:
On the afternoon of October 8, 1975, six Special
Agents equipped with Bureau _metal detectors conducted a search
of the area as described by without locating
any evidence of buried ammunition cans. These Agents remained
on the site the night of October 8, 1975, and resumed search
at sunrise October 9, 1975. They were joined by nine U.S.
Marine Corps personnel equipped with Marine Corps metal detectors
and entire area depicted on map was searched three separate b6
times. Numerous metal items, such as nails, horse shoes, b7c
beer cans, etc., were located below the ground surface and
dug up; however, again no ammunition cans or loot was located.
Additional photographs of area were ing processed.
From explicit directions originally it is obvious
that this is the area he was describing. t is also apparent
that he is completely familiar with the area. The only
discrepancy ne | that there are
seven concrete slabs located in € parking lot instead of
five as[__—__— originally stated.
Los Angeles also furnished the following map
detailing the area in which the search was conducted and
referred to previously:
