Td Mr, Casper. Mr, Conrad____ Mr. Dalbey. Mr, Cleveland. Mr, Ponder. = Mr, Bates. Mr. Woikert___. Mr. Waltera_.— Mr, Soyorn____— Tele. Room____. J. Edgar Hoover, Director The Federal Bureau of Investigation : F.B.I, Building ALL INFORMATION CONTAINED , — Washington, D.C. HEREIN IS UNCLASSIFIED oo . D ICY 3 Pere Dear Sir: 4/20/16) SPSEBTS Louisiana's chief affliction, Hale Boggs, has said that you like to be remembered at Christmas and on yvour birthday, Tf you will forgive me the tardiness as well i were awe Rae Mee a Radek ke A Pe ae Ate hh as that reference, please accept my sincere best wishes this season. It is my earnest hope that you will continue to serve many more years as Director of The Bureau. ; For more than ten years I have died such information as has been available to ordinary citizens regarding the Council on Forei e j My conclusions are that this covert group is actively conspiring to usurp the Constitutional author-— ity of the United States Government and to direct it toward its own sinister ends. I realize this organization accumulated massive powers within our government before its conspiratorial nature became fully evident. For one branch of govern- ment to undertake to destroy this super monster is admittedly akin to demanding another David to confront Goliath. Still, if you and your bureau cannot be that David, our nation faces its greatest peril in nearly two centuries, In 1948, Alger Hiss was protected and shielded by a massive array of powerful men, both in and out of government, Because of the perserverance and dedication applied by your bureau, he was eventually indicted and justly prosecuted, While I can find no record that you, personally, took part in the Hiss case, your own courage and patriotism shines through this brilliant exposé like an unwavering light. To likewise indict the C.F.R., its officers and directors, and the institutions that finance it, would be an undertaking so monumental as to make the Hiss indict- ment seem almost trifling. Yet, by their own records, they have conspired to manipulate U. S. foreign policy, domestic affairs, banking, industry, and our mass communications. Indeed, they have even taken the unpopular position of having conspired to prolong the VietNam War! REC-11 C2 —_ 22 22IG = ~~ 4] A C fave es a & JAN 24 1972 GET hw ad —
