Dear Mr. Hoover, ~*~ I am writing this letter for several reasons, foremost of which is to convey to you my personal thanks as an American citizen for the magnificent job you have done to preserve our (my) freedom from communism as well as criminals. It is.:°:. unfortunate that you have been unable to protect us from the encroachment of our own goverment. I do wish to give you my vote of confidence and to ask what I, as an individual can do to help. I stated at the beginning that there were several reusons why I was writing this letter and how I will State the others. JI would like very much to receive from your 9ffice any information you may have on the Cc. F. R. cil on. Foreign Relations ) and the John Birch Society. I would like to know the objectives, { aspirations and methods of operation of these organizationg§, I have heard that the John Birch Society was subversive Anti-Semetic, Racist, Fascist, andeven Communist y Inspired. If any of these are true I need to know. ye I have also heard rumors of the C. F. R. such as one worlders, traitors and so forth. Could you enlighten me on these subjects? a Once again let me thank you for what you have done for me and for the United States, and I pray you may continue the wonderful job you are doing.
