King was invited to attend a march in Memphis, Tenn. It was reported
that she would lead marches in Raleigh, N.C. and Montgomery, Ala. She
was also contacted to be the principal speaker on 4/4/69 at the Las Vegas
Convention Center but did not attend. She was to participate in
activities planned by the SCLC during April 4-6, 1969 to commemorate
the death of King. She expressed to Ralph Abernathy, President of the
SCLC, her desire to stay at her residence in Atlanta, Ga., with her
children during this peridd.
Information also set out that King would arrive in NYC
on 3/30/69 to attend a conference, of the Association of Ortho Psychiatry.
The planning of people-to-people fours would include Mrs. King and other
SCLC personalities for the purpose of recruitment.

on Tallahassee for a "Day of Confrontation" on 4/8/69 when the Florida
Legislature opened, to take part in a non-violent demonstration in
memory of the Slain civil rights leader Dr. Martin Luther King.
Coordinating the demonstration included Reverend C.K. Steel of Tallahasses
Vice-President of the SCLC, Coretta King and other national staff
members of the SCLC were expected to attend. (SIC)
