The article a=s* = see eee BOT ee ee ~ stated that AL A press conference, called by the Gaptioned group on January 12, 1968, in New York City, Martin Luther King, Jr., had called for a large-scale antiwar rally to be held in Washington, D. C., on February 5-6, 1968. According to the article, the stdenent was made during a news conference which also voiced support for Dr. Benjamin Spock and the four co-defendants who were recently indicted by a Federal — . Grand Jury for counseling evasion of the draft, With regard’ - to the demonstration, King stated that while other protesters / would not be turned away, the demonstration would be primarily eu ews SF rae Tew Fee ee Se ee se r for church affiliated groups. He said details of what fora the demonstration would take have not been worked out.
