a. 3.; oe 1 8 : scone BATIONAL COMMITTEE TO ABOLISH THE HOUSE UN-AMERICAN ACTIVITISS COMMITTEE The "Guide to Subversive Organizations and Publications", issued | December 1, 1961, by the Committee on Un-American Activities, United States House cf Representatives, Page 115, contains the following citation regarding the National Committee to Abolish the Un-American Activities Committes (NCAUAC): "Cited as a tnew organization’ set up in the Sumer of 1960 to lead and direct the Communist Partyts "Operation Abolition! campaign, Seven of the national leaders of this &roup have been identified as communists. "(Committee on Un-American Activities, Houge Report 1278 on the Truth About the Film "Operation Abolitiont ’ Part 1, October 3, 1961, page 5)" A source has advised that the NCAUAC changed its name on March 3, 196: to include the word "House" in its naze, thereby becoming known as the National Committee to Abolish the House Un-American Activities Committee (NCAHUAC). A national meeting of this organization was held in Chicago, Illincis on April 27 A second source advised on May 11, 1967, that as of that date the NCAHUAC continued to function with headcuarters at 555 North Westerm Avenue, Los Angeles, California. -76-
