NY 100-18676 "the most rapid and complete correction of our revisionist errors." Mxhibit #353 "Political Affairs" September, 1945 Witness to Introduce: Librarian Library of Congress CLAUDIA JCNES was the author of "a discussion article" entitled, “On the Right to Scelf-Determinaticn for the Negro People in the Black Belt." This article appeared in the January, 1946, issue of “Political Affairs." The following are excerpts from this article by the subject: "ve Communists cdhere to the fundamental belief that complete and lasting cquality of imperialist oppressed nations and peoples can be suarantecd only with the cstablish- ment of Socialism. The aim of Socialism is not only to abolish the present division of mankind into small states, not only to bring nations closer to cach other, but ulti- mately to merge them. But we have never ignored the historical process neccssary to the achievemcnt of that zoal. Nor can we 'postpone! the question of national liberation until Socialism is established or speak solely in general nebulous pnorascs sbout national libcration. We must have a clcar and precisely formulated political program to guide our work in the achievement of that poal. For we imow that 'mankind can achieve the inevitable morcing of nations, only by passing through the transition period of complete liberation of all the oppressed nations, i.e., their freedom to sccede.!
