Witness to Introduce: Manager Radio Station KQV Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania CLAUDIA JONES admitted that she had been active in the Communist Party movement for a number of years and that she first became active in the youth groups of the Communist Party, and later, because of her work in the Party, was elected to the National Com- mittee of the Communist Party. She said that elections to the National Committee were made at a mceting attended by delegates representing the Party from all over the United States. She attributed her election to the fact that she worked diligently for the Party, writing numerous articles under her own name and by preparing Commnist Party literature distributed in the name of the Party. She said that she had been on several speak- ing tours for the Party. She admitted that she was, as of January 19, 1948, the time of the interview, Secretary of tho National Women's Commission of the Communist Party.
