oa errr NY 100-18676 "Proper use cf the Women's Pago of Tho Worker't, undor the loadership of Peggy Dennis, now widely road; tho organization of friends and readers ef 'Tho Workert to make this page the vehicle of cx- change of cxpcrionccs in tho poace and gcencral women's movement, can mako this page the avenuc to incrcas- ing the circulation of the press among the masscs of women, particularly among Nogro and working-class women. , "Tho Draft Resolutions's failuro to deal adcquetecly with tho woman question, overcome now with Comrade Hall's report, consists in the fact that it failed not only to deal adoquatcly with women's role -~-but with her oppression--the crux of the question. It is truc that the widespread and justifiable criti- cism by many of our women comradcs of the Resolution's weakness was duc to their failure to find a corres- ponding cstimate of work among women on all Party levols, They saw therefore the struggle for women's equality solely as an innor Party mattcr, isolated as too many of thom are from the broad ferment of women for peace. Where women, dcspite obstacles, plunged ahcad, and did not fall into the tbattle of the sexes! bourgceois- fominist moods, there recognition of woments full role and contribution to the fight for peace was swiftcst. This should point up a great fact: namely, thet it is the movement of the women themselves for peace that has forced @ new awfrcness upon our Party and labor-progros- sive forces cvorywhere today. A real tribute for this approach gocs to Comrade Fostcr who told us that women must fight for their own libcration, and to women Communist anti-fascist lcaders in the intornational women's moveomonte The attcntion and agrocmcnt of the cntiro Porty organization must be won to tho solution of, and collectivo application to these problems. Overe ‘coming of thesc weaknosses will relcasc the collcoctivo talents of our wonderful women fighters to work, write, sing end fight for woments libcrations; and they will want to do it not as sccond-class citizens, but as contributors to Party policy and mass work in our clubs and groups.
