As a civil rights investigation there are several federal statutes involved. Two possible statutes include: 1) Hobbs Act, Title 18, USC, Section 1951, which carries a fine of not more than $10,000.00 and imprisonment of not more than 20 years, or both, 2) RICO, Title 18, USC, Section 1962, which carries criminal forfeiture provisions and imprisonment of not more than 20 years. No subject of this mail cover is presently under indictment or formally charged with any violation of criminal jaw. Should any subject. be indicted or formaily charged during the period of the mail cover, the postal inspector will be promptly advised so the mail cover may be immediately canceled.
