idicts against Manson, 36; Sus-
an Atkins, 22; Patricia Kren-
winkel, 23, and Leslie Van Hou-,
ten, 2J, on March 29 for the
slayings of aetress Sharon Tate
and six others.
Only four of the jurors, how-
ever, were subpoenead to ap-'
peux, in, court today during

Denying the opportunity of an.
evidentiary hearing, which;
would include cross-examina-
tion of jurors, Judge Older stat-
ed defense efforts for such a
move included “hearsay on
hearsay.” .
Jurors Alva Dawson, Jean
Roscland, Anlee Sisto and Wil-
liam McBride were excused by
Judge Older and left the crowd-
ed courtroom.

Kanarek, attorney for Man-
son, asked the judge to warn ju-
rors that they could be asked
about a missing colar photo-
gaph showing the body of Shar-
on Tate. The photo was among
prosecution exhibits.
