This pressure came from citizens, public officials, including Congressman , etc. The Director resisted efforts to involve the FBI in these local murders and convinced the Attorney General that the FBI should not conduct investigation. SHRODER noted that there is considerable publicity at this time regarding the Los Angeles murders occurring over the last several days and the Director has stated "Don't let us get jockied into the Los Angeles murdefs} .
