LA 76-2512 On April 10, 199] Associate Warden ROBERT I. MOSELEY pointed out the 1949 Chevrolet convertibie, red in color, in which he found the subject. The license number of this vehicle is KZBO99. MOSELEY pointed out the pair of pliers and a pair of wire cutters which were on the floorboard. These items were turned over by Associate Warden ROBERT I. MOSELEY to SA ISADORE H. MANN (A). Photographs were taken of the vehicle in question by JAMES W, CARTER, Federal Correctional Institu- tion photographer, On April 11, 1957, CHARLES MILLES MANSON, inmate number 3845CAL, was interviewed by SAS JOHN H. BORGMAN and ISADORE H. MANN (A) at the Federal Correctional Institution, Terminal Island, California. MANSON, at this time, advised that he stole clothes out of a locker at the United States Coast Guard Station, Terminal Island, California, which he wore underneath his work clothes when he was apprehended. He stated that he went through the fence but did not say whether he did or did not cut the hole in the fence in question. He stated that after he got out of the United States Coast Guard premises, he got in the car in which he was apprehended by Associate Warden ROBERT I. MOSELEY. MANSON said that he tried to run away, stating that he had to get to his wife's residence to try to help her out of financial difficulty. He said he operated on impulse. He then stated he was confused at present and he was sorry he told the Special Agents what he had, He stated he had intended not telling the agents anything. He subsequently stated that after he got out of the fenced enclosure at the United States Coast Guard, he did not know what he was going to do. . On April 11, 1957, FRANKLYN LUCAS, United States Coast Guard No, 276392, advised that he brought MANSON back to the United States Coast Guard Station from the Federal Correctional Institution at approximately 1:05 to 1:10 PM on April 10, 1957.
