he was at my house. I should say that was about eighteen months ago,
I went on duty in January, January 2, if I am not mistaken, of this
year and I haven't heard from him directivy or indirectly. I see
Colonel LOVE every so often and he hasn't mentioned seeing him, and
I am sure he would because they were very close friends.
"VG. Do you know of any other officers that are close friends
of Colonel LINURERG?
"A. The Colonel SLOTH that I was talking about—he was on
General Staff and I believe in Germany, and he may still be there. I
don't “know. Colonel LOVE is one of my best friends, but Colonel LINDB:RGH
was an ecaquaintance." (Lieutenant ERADYORD advised that the Colonel SeITH
referred to is Colonel TRULLI WITH. )
"Q. Do you know of any other officers that LINDBERGH was
acquainted or intiriate with, or friends with by your ow knowledge or
by hearsay?
"A. No, I don't. At the time he was on activ2 duty here
(I am spcaking of Colonel LINDBERGH.}, he was, I believe, in a board
for the development of cireraft. The night he was oul there our dis-
cussion was on what kind of an airplane we neecec ror observation and
we had a,long discussion on that. Some others were present thet night--
Colonel/WAIDEN and ROY/ALEXANDLR of Time Marazine, wie was formerly
commanding officer of the 110th.
"Q@. Do you know sa jor LANPEERE?
"A, You mean TON LANPEERE? IT have met him. I worked for
icCann é& Erickson, Inc., in civilian life and we handled lots of accounis-~-
Ferd, Standard Oil. Major LANPRERE was working for Ford on a new engine,
I think.
"@. Do you know anything about the relationship between
Genera] -CGUSINS and Colonel LINDBERGH?
"A, I have been very intimate with General COUSI’S for a
number of years and there is no relationship.
fi. There is nothing to believe that Generai COUSITG might
know about Colonel LINUBENGH's contacts and associations, etc.?
“A. No, sir, General COUSI!'S is my best friend and if there
was anything-~ as a matter of fact, I think he is very much oppo-ed to
LINDBORGH,
". That was whet I was anxious to know, because people wid
are not too friendly with others know more about them than their cnemieé:s.
