On J 2 SMITH was instructed to cali at the home of Recorders Court, Detroit, Mic SMITH discuss the possibilities of his winning the election for the United States and when SMTTH said he thought he had a good chance of winning, interrupted and said that he didn't care whether SMITH w it was just that he want to give . . ., and at that point i’ was interrupted. SMITH also reported - that he has heard that a woman has been asking for him at Station WIR, stating that she knows MR. SMITH would get her son deferred. SMITH stated for the record that he refers all such requests to the War Department; -- stated that this was part of the smear campaign against him which is waged by Communists and other enemies of his.
