PATRIOTIC SONGS.
THE STAR-SPANGLED BANNER
Oh, say, can you ses, by the dawn's early light,
What so proudly we hailed at the twilight's last gleaming,
, Whose broad stripes and bright stars, throt the perilous fight,
' Ofer the ramparts we watched were so gallantly streaming?
And the rockets' red glare, the bombs bursting in air, ;
Gave proof through the night that our flag was still there. —
Oh, say, does that star-spangled banner yet wave
O'ter the land of the free and the home of the brave?
Oh, thus be it ever when free men shall stand
Between their loved home and wild warts desolation;
Blest with vict'ry and peace, may the heav'n rescued land
Praise the Pow'r that hath made and preserved us a nation!
Then conquer we must, when our cause it is just,
And this be our motto; "In God is our trustt",
And the star-spangled banner in triumph shall wave
Oter the land of the free and the home of the brave.
AMERICA
My country, 'tis of thee,
Sweet land of liberty,
Of thee I sing;
Land where my fathers diedl
Land of the pilgrims' pride!
From every mountain side
Let freedom ring!
My native country, thee,
Land of the noble free,
Thy name I love;
I love thy rocks and rills,
Thy woods and templed hills;
My heart with rapture thrills,
Like that above,
Let music swell the breeze,
And ring from all the trees,
Sweet freedomts song; .
Let mortal tongues awake;
Let all that breathe partake;
Let rocks their silence break,
The sound prolong.
Our fathers' Godt to thee
Author of liberty,
To Thee we sing:
Long may our Jand be bright
With freedom's holy light;
Protect us by Thy might,
Great God, our King.
AMERICA, THE BEAUTIFUL
© beautiful for spacious skies,
For amber waves of grain, -
For purple mountain majesties
Above the fruited plain. “
Americat Americal God shed His grace
on thee,
And crown thy good with brotherhood
From sea to shining sea.
O beautiful for pilgrim feet
Whose stern impassion'd stress ~
A thoroughfare for freedom beat
Across the wilderness.
Americal. Americal God mend thine
every flaw
Confirm thy soul in self-control
Thy liberty in lew.
O beautiful for heroes prov'd
In liberating strife,
Who more than self their country loved,
And mercy more than life.
Americal Americal May God thy gold
refine
Till all success be nobleness,
And every gain divine.
O beautiful for patriot drean
That sees beyond the years
Thine alabaster cities gleam ~
Undimmed by human tears.
