N. J., which by comparison makes Cook’s stage par aphernalia seem the height of rationality. At Sleepless Hollow, Conk has raised simple silli- mesa to a fine art, The establishment is run with Bngle-minded efficiency, to bewilder and discommode visitors. Life at Sleepless Hollow is a marathon of practical jokes. revolving chiefly around two rival resorts, “Kelly's” and “Schulte’s.” both within the Cook domain. A weekend at Sicepless Hollow is a requisite part of the experience of practically every New York celebrity. Guests present when LIFE visited: Dramatic Critic Richard Watts Jz., Animal Tamet Fraok Buck, Owner Gerald Nugent of the Philadelphia Phifties, and Lewis E.
