. As you recall, Mr. Hoover received on April 28, 1958, from the
U. S. Chamber of Commerce one of the "Seven Great Living Americans" awards.
Ceremonies were held at the Sheraton-Park Hotel in Washington. One of those
so honored at the time was Charles F. Kettering who died today. Others were

Mr.: Kettering died at 82 in Dayton today. His home address is —- -
_ Ridgeleigh Terrace, Dayton, Ohio. According to the Associated Press, his wife
died in 1946 and his only son, Eugen¢Xettering, resides at Hinsdale, Ulnois.)

We are having a letter sent to the son. At-5:25 p.m. today,
Dick Cull of the "Dayton News, " who is extremely friendly to the Bureau and who
attended the "Seven Great Living Americans" awards ceremonies, telephoned
~| Wick and asked whether Mr. Hoover would have anything to say about the life and
death of Mr. Kettering.
