tt SA 44-2889 About halfway to Pecos another Deputy Sheriff drove up in a pickup truck and put some of the workers into his truck. They then drove on to Pecos, Texas, where everybody arrested was booked, fingerprinted and photographed. They were then placed into a cell and everybody began shouting. A Deputy Sheriff told them that if they kept shouting they would not get any food. The UFW representatives kept on shouting, the workers did not because they had been working all morning and hed not had lunch, and were hungry. They did get breakfast the next morning at which point the UFW representatives began shouting some more. A deputy came in and told everybody to be quiet or they would get no lunch. Everybody quieted down, but no lunch was served. Everybody was bonded out at approximately 5:30 p.m. The bond was made by an attorney, name unknown, who works for the UFW. The children were released to the custody of the local priest in Pecos, Texas, at about 2:00 or 3:00 p.m. on the day that everybody was arrested.
