"CORKY" ALES of Denver. CHAVEZ also spoke at a rally and dance sponsored by GONZALES' organization, known as "Crusade for Denver CP members attendé y and dance for purpose of obtaining signatures for a petition opposing U.S. partici- ’ pation in the war in Vietnam but were unsuccessful in ob- taining any signatures. CHAVEZ was praised for his activi- ties in a Resolution on Mexican~American People in the Southwest adopted at the National Convention, CP, held in New Yok, 6/24-26/66.
