CONFIQE.TIAL YOUNG SOCIALIST ALLIANCE UNIVERSITY OF WASHINGTON CHAPTER On March 3, 1967, a source reported concerning an “application for recognition as a student organization” on the campus of the University of Washington (UW}, Seattle, Washington, dated February 16, 1967, indicating that recognition had been given by the University to the formation of a UW Chapter of the Young Socialist Alliance, which would have connections with the Young Socialist Alliance (YSA) National Office, New York. On August 8, 1967, a second source reported a fiyer issued by the SWP and the YSA indicated meetings were to be held at 5257 University Way N.D., in Seattle. The Socialist Workers Party (SWP) has been designated pursuant to Executive Order 10450. The Septembcr 12, 1969, issue of “The Militant" listed under the heading "Meet Socialists in Your Area" the address for the Seattle YSA as 5257 University Way N.E., Seattle, Washington 98105, telephone: 206-523-2555. “The Militant" is a weekly newspaper of the -SWP. On October 30, 1969, a third source furnished a Student Organization for Recognition or Renewal of Recognition application dated September 29, 1969, and executed by the YSA, which listed JAY LA VASSAR as the Chairman. = 16" =.
