The following morning, an abandoned Ford sedan was found two blocks from the scene of this murder which the police department believed may have been the vehicle used by the escaped murderers. The license plate of this abandoned vehicle was identical to that license number noted by the parole officers from their surveillance of Galante on the previous night.
