that Mr. Philby was with the
Imam of Yemen There was
ho confirmation of this report,
J. Heath recalled that on
November 7, 1955, the Prime
Minister, at that time Foreign
Secretary, told the House that
it had become known that Mr.
Philby had had Communist
associatiors and that he w.s
asked to resign from the
Foreign Service in July, 1951,
which he did.
Mr Macmillan had also

had been subjected to close
investigation and that no evi-

that time to show he was re-
sponsible for warning Burgess
and Maclean, or that he had
