COINCIDENCE
That any mystery should
surround Mr. Philby’s where-
abouls is indeed an astonishing
coincidence.
For of the many
lives were shatter by the dis-
appearance of Burgess and
Maclean back in 1951, perhaps
ng one—outside their immediate
families-~sulfered more than
Philby did.
In those days he was First
Secretary at the British Embassy
in Wasihngton and the senior
