It is to be noted that in connection with the telegrrus sent by
MACLEAN, an article in the London Daily Eopress under the date of June 1,
1951, set forth a number of points wich indicated that the tesegrams pur-
portedly sent by MACLEAN were not written by him. Attention was drawn to
the figure "7" in the telegram to Ledy MACLEAN which was written in a cont-
inental manner with a stroke across the vertical line of the 7. In this
article attention was also called to the fact that the capital *I*s" were
dotted. In the telegram to MELINDA MACLEAN it was pointed out that the ward
Tleav" was misspelled in ths.the letter "E" was omitted at the end of the
word. It was also noted that the telegram to MELINDA MACLEAN was written
with the word "MELINDA" following the word "MACLEAN" which was described r »
as "continental". (
