ormerly in their emplcy and who was at one time in'the employ of DONALD
MACLEAN.

‘jhas advised that DONALD MACLEAN when living at 2710
35th Place, Northwest, had a French maid who stayed with them until
they moved to F Street in Georpetowm. The Franch maid then returned to
France and while there wrote a letter to the occupants of 2710 - 35th
Fliece, Northvect, stating that she wished to return to the United States.
<a said the letter was referred to her and that she-advised
weenie, the maid's desire to return to the Unitcd States.
Subsequently, the maid was hired by theives who were then residing
at .
By teletype dated June 13, 1951, the Boston Office advised
that __inneniananen stated he employed a French maid named
eGR aurix€ the latter period of 1919. QUAM understood
that eggpeaggielit came to the United States to serve the family
of a foreign diplomat whose identity was unknown to him. When this
diplomat was recalled it was necessary for AMM to return to Paris,
France, as she was reportedly here under some type of special visitor's
visa. Thereafter A in seeking a maid had’ recommended
to hin by 4qREperbesQQasequemtity and thereafter arranged for
to come to the United States under the French quotae She arrived at
the port of New York via boat sometime during September, 199 and there-
after was employed by him for four months at his residence

as she was unable to perform any household work, and it was necessary
for him to discharge her. She left the alan residence during the
latter part of 1919 and there has been no contact with her since. that times
