I am uncertain as to the exact manner in which the conversation began, but , at any rate, Burgess commented that if the United States and Great Britain did not watch thenasives and watch the people in high offices that "Wa would all be run by Communiste®. The conversation then turned to the Korean situation and Burgess asked me , what I thought about the Korean war. I told him that the d=-bosb should be used, Burgess replied by saying that it should not be used because other countries have the A-bomb too and plans for just as effective bombs as ours. i told Burgess that the Kerean war was a fight fer freedom and that freedom was always worth fighting for. He replied by saying, ®I?11 newer fight for freedon again; they?til have to kill me before I go back in service.® Burgess eaid that he had fought for freedom ance in the last war and that after it had been achieved, the United Nations had allowed another war to start in Korea. Then the United States and the United Nations had gone ante this war when they had no reason te do ao, Burgess told me that he planned te go back to Great Britain ons vacation dn the fall of 1951.
