On October “> 1946, pursuant to your request, Special Agent
A. &. Ostholthoff called from Los Angeles, California, to ascertain
whether the Civilian Production Aduinistration in Washington, D. C. had —————
taken any action to stop the construction of tanaings Hotel since the
10-day period given this agency to act has now ex Mr. Ostholthoff also
desired to be advised as to whether he should contitme his investigation con
cerning this matter. - '
In the event that the Bureau deems it advisable for this investigation
to be continued at this time, Mr. Ostholthoff suggested that instead of inter~
viewing al of the principal witnesses and principal subjects simi, ous Ly
: different cities. nothing a lative was developed as
a result of these two interviews, Mr. Ostholthoff expressed the belief that h
nothing tangible would be developed as a result of simultaneous interviews with
the remaining principal witnesses and principal subjects. If possible, Mr.
Oetholthoff requested to be informed of the Bureau's desires concerning the
future handling of this case in the Field today.
