Two sources of | information are available on this subject, Of the 51
arrested men fingerprinted by the police prior to the riot of July 26th
ami checked in’ the fiucerprint division of this Department, 17, or an

the fincerprints of 4723 of the bonus mxrchers who wore admittedly
veterans and applicd for and obtained loans from tne Veterans' Bureau,
after Congress adjourned, for the ostensible purpose of returning to
their homes. Of tuese 4723, 1O06S were found to have police records,

offenses, including assault, lerceny, burglary, embczzlement, robbery,
felonious homicide, forgery and counterfeiting, rape, sex offenses,
and nareotic drug violations,
