the time my husband was an escaped convict from the State

State Penitentiary until he was pardoned onthe 23rd day of

pardon. After "Buck's" pardon we stsyed in Dallas several

car and had just returned when the officers came up. "Buck" Barrow

was « stairway leading from the garage on the first floor to our
apartment on the second floor. All the shots that were fired were
from the garage downstairs by Clyde and Jack Sherman, After the
shooting Jack Sherman said we would have to get out in o hurry,
I was the last ons to leave and I had to rum out down the stairs
and out into the street as they had already driven the car out of
the garage and into the middle of the street. As I ran into the
street I had to pass by the body of one of the officers that was
lying just outside of tha door of the garagee I later learned that
two officers were shot. Jack Sherman was wounded while exchanging
shots with the officers, Myzelf end Clyde Barrow dressed the
wound for sometime, He was shot on the left side just above the
hips The bullet entered from the back side going entirely
through him end coming out on the left side. At the time "Buck"
