During September, 1972, no information was received other than that the Winston-Salem, North Carolina, BPP Chapter FACTIONALISM continues to follow HUEY P. NEWTON. PART II The following is a summary of BPP activities in the Charlotte Division: During the month of September, 1972, activities of the Winston-Salem, North Carolina, BPP Chapter were relatively quiet. Another Survival Day Program was planned for the weekend of September 23-24, 1972, at Winston-Salem, but this program did not materialize as the BPP members did not receive the necessary community support to carry through with the program. A general loack of interest in the black community coupled with insufficient donations of food and money were the reasons for the failure of the September Survival Day Program. The free clothing and free pest control programs still function on a limited basis. the free breakfast for children program is not operational; however, reports indicate the George Jackson Liberation School continues to operate each Saturday afternoon and is attended by approximately eight school age children who receive free lunches prior to class. | *?) Sources report that along with JULIUS WHITE CORNELL, J three other BPP members from Winston-Salem, North Carolina, are currently in Oakland, California, to receive training, the nature of which is not known. These three are HAVEN HENDERSON, BERNARD PATTERSON and WILLIAM McCLAIN.
