"The New York Tircs’ city edition, Tuesday, April 20, 1965,
page 27, reportea that a new party of "revolutionary soc i2zbisn" was
formally founseco ca April ts, 1965, .under the name of the PLP vhich
ha- been know as the Progressive Labor Movement. ,
According to the article, “The Progréz=sive Laber Movement
was founded in 1962 by Milton Rosen and Mortimer Scheer after they
were expelled from the Comnunist Party of the Uniced States for
assrrtedly folloving tne Chinese Communist line."
A source advisec on June 3. 1968, that ‘the PLP held its
Second National Coenveation in New York City. May 31 to Tune 2, 1968.
at vhich time the PLP resss-rted its objeciive of the estaolishmeot
of « militant working ciass movement based on Marxism-Leninism
This is to be accorplishec through the Party's over-all revolutionary
strategy of raising the corscicusness of the peaple and helping to
previde ideological leadership in the working class struggje for
state power,
The source also advised that at the Second Nationa! Conven-
tion Milton Rosen vas unanimously re-elected National Chairman of the
PLP and Levi Laub. Fred t*#rone, Jared Israsl, Walliam Epton, Jacob
Rosen, Jeffrey Gorcos and Walter Linder were Elected @s the National

The PLP publishes "Progressive Labor" a bi-monthly
magazine; “World Revcluticna"™, a quarterly periccical; and "Challenge-
Desifio', a monthly newspaner.
The April, 1969, issue of "Cha!lengs-Desafio" sets forth
that "Challenge is dedicated to the peopie's fiznt for a new way of
Life--where the vorking men and women coatret wieéir own homes and
factories; where they themselves make up the entire governmeat on
every level and control tne schools, courts, potice an@ all insti-
tutions which aré new used to control them,"
Source advised on May 8, 1969. that the PLP utilizes an
addisss of General Fost Office Box 808, Brooklyn. New York, and
alse utilizes an office in Room 617, 1 Union Square West, New York.
