C., one copy was placed in file, and one copy was apparently destroyed. On 4/13/73, a copy was made and furnished to National Agency Check Center (NACC) for forwarding , to the U. S. Army which had — information concerning Reairtel stated that orlginal and seven copies of renort vere prepared; hovever, your itemization (five submitted to the Bureau, one copy for Secret Service, Charlorte, orth Carolina, and three copies retained in the Charlotte , file) would account for nine copies. Resolve this discrepancy. NOTE: The "Winston-Salem Journal" article captioned "FBI Still Hovers Oer Panthers" contained the statement "In a eonfidcential FBI file which was recently made available + the Journal, Zachary T. Love, an Agent in the W inston-S le Office, cited three informants - CE T-2, and CE T-3 - in a report Agent in the Winston-Salem ident ified only as CE T-l, on Charles Zollicoffer, a membar of the chantar here The cover sheet on the Feb 23, 1973, renort said ‘all sources...whose identities are concealed in referenced communication, have furnished reliable information in the nast.'' The cover sheet referred to is believed to be FD-323, use of which has been dircontinued, Rerort in question Me] ‘an uncla:sifiec document, Information attributed to the renort accurate and it is ancarent that the "Winston-Salem Journal” had access to the renort., Charlotte renorted that contact with secret Service, Charlotte, North Carolina, revealed that cony receive’ by it had been @stroyed by shredding shortly after being received, Bureau files reflect that cordial relations existed with the "Winston-Salem Journal" prior to 10/69; however, since then mumérous critical editorials of the FBI and former Director Hoover have anneared. be ete OD a es
