LARRY LITTLE stated publicly on July 9, 1973, that the
BPP, in addition to the $35,000 they received from the Episcopal
Church, have also received approximately $6,000 in donations
from supporters of the BPP's Free Ambulance Program and that
these funds are being used to purchase necessary equipment for

BPP members have spent a limited amount of time in the
sale of The Black Panther, the BPP newspaper, and have not been
able to make profits from the sale of the newspaper in the recent
past. U
PART II
The following is a summary of the BPP activities in
the Charlotte Division for the months of July, August, and LJ
September, 1973:
During late July, 1973, confrontations between police
officers and black militants at Winston-Salem, North Carolina,

in the North Liberty Street area, erupted into violence wherein
police officers received minor injuries and local businessmen
suffered minor property damage. These acts of violence were
directed primarily against the local police control of the black
community and alleged harassment and agitation of blacks by the
Police Department. Among those individuals most outspoken
against the Police Department and who were regarded as
