LARRY LITTLE co ted American Civil ho Co Liberties Union_attorneys JQSEPH LEGER of Fayetteville, North Carolina, and TERR PRUL CE of Durham, North Carolina, _to inquire into this incident with prison authorities. Both TIEGER and PUL have represented BPP members in the past. CE T-1 reported that LITTLE talked about heading a delegation of BPP members and procced'ng to acleigh, Worth Carolina to denend a hearing with the werden of Central Prison regarding the circumstances of IADDELL's death, This source reported LITTLE had not finalized any plans in this regard as of that date. ~” cn a CE T-1 advised that LITTLE was cttempting to arrange a protest demonstration at North Cerolineg Central Prison to protest the death of VADDELL. This source veported the North Carolina Chepter of the BPP held funeral services for ‘7.DDELL in ‘Vinston-Salea, North Carolina, on June 21, 1972, LARRY LITTLE was in charge of funeral services md ataped eulogy for WADDELL was delivered by BOBBY SEALE, Chairman of the BPP. Following the funeral LARRY LITTLE announced that the BPP was sponsoring a demonstration at Central Prison on Sunday, June 25, 1972, to focus attention on the death of WADDELL snd conditions in the North Carolina prison. LITTLE stated the demonstration would be peaceful, LIVTTLE also steted GOLDEN FRINGS, Field Secretary of the Southern Chriscicn Leadership Conference and BENJAMIN CHAVIS, Assistant Director of the North Carolina - Virginia Committce for Racial Justice would participate in the demonstration, According to CE T-1, hovever, both declined LITTLE's invitation.
