Dix Officials to Query ck _ Army authorities .at Fort Dix, N. j., last night admitted that a number of soldiers on the post have reported seeing Cpl. Joseph Du- mais-in camp on Jan. 10, 11 and 12, which tended to shed some doubt on Dumais’s claim that he had a date with Elizabeth Short, the “Black Dahlia,” on Jan. 9 or 10, a few days before her nude, mu- tilated body was found in a vacant Los Angeles lot. Los Angeles police found the Dahlia’s body Jan. 15. They be- lieve she was probably killed Jan. 14, but medical examination ‘indi- cated she might have been dead for as long as 86 hours when her body was found.
