Earbo [7 MURDER - INFORMATION CONCERNING ie Hendon — The Los Angeles: Division has requested authorization for hss Gandy investigation to be conducted by the Chicago Division as a matter of cooperation with the Los Angeles Police Department. The request is to interview three persons whose names appeared in the personal address book of the victim. Los Angeles has also requested Chicago to furnish the facts relative to the mutilation murder of LuciHte-Ktetyman by Soccorro-Villagran, a soldier at Chanute Field, Illinois, who was questioned by the Sheriff at Urbana, Illinois, relative to his possible implication in the Elizabeth Short slaying. OBSERVASTON On March 21, 1947, Los Angeles, upon a request of the Los Angeles Police Department , requested that Philadelphia interview Sergeant Peter_A, ‘Vetcher, husband of Elizabeth Short, and considered a likely suspect.
