FEDERAL GOVERNMENT Dear Mr. Chairman: This is in further response to your letter. of August 29, 1980, in which you requested “All written materials he possession of FBI Officials pertaining to the Bill arter case which are not part of the FBI - ease file, whether previously provided or not.” In connection with this request I caused a specific inguiry to be made of the Assistant Directors of our Criminal Investigative and Intelligence Divisions, each Executive Assistant Director and Special Agents in Charge of our Washington, Atlanta and Jacksonville Field Offices, for materials falling within the terns of your request. p= Based on the responses to my inquiry, no other written material exists outside the case files except for certain items received from our Jacksonville Field Office. Based on conversations between our respective staffs, it is my understanding that not included in this request are notes taken during the course of investigative interviews which vere ultimately reduced to a typewritten form and made lV a part of the case file. ; 77.
