INTERNAL SECURITY - R « * —wem er SS, a rd a s Dear Sir; ; aap Yi The Bureau's attention is invited to the fect that during the month of July, 1945, Confidential National Defense Informant 1A BB-1 continued to furnish this office with general information ‘ concerning certain contacts of the BRECHT family. * It might be noted that BERT BRECHT, himself, was in New York during the first half of thia month. This inforaant was adle to ismediately advise this office of BRECHT'S return to Los Angeles, which oocurred on July 16, 1946, Informant BB-1 also made it kmown that on July 6, 1945 BERT BRECHT was the addressee of a cable from Bern, Switserland, finviting him to attend the International Film Congress to be held from August 30 to Septenber 8, 1945. This cable requested BRECET to take over one of the principal conferences if he were coming, or if he were not coming to submit a text.
