For the information of the Bureau, the last paragraph of the Los Angeles letter of February 21, 1945, requesting authorization for installation of a technical surveillance on this subject inad- vertently stated that a technical surveillance was previously main- tained on BERT -BRECHT.. BRECET was confused with HEINPICH WAKE, eo companion subject on whom there was a technical surveillance. The records of this office fail to show that any technical surveillance has been maintained on BRECHT.
