Attention is respectfully directed to Los Angeles letter to the Buresu dated Jniy sen 1943, and to the report enclored therewith made by Specie] Agen Los Angeles, Gated July 10, 1943. This report contains information relative to the decision of the Department which advised the office of the United States Attorney at Loa Angeles that no Presidential warrant would be authorised for subject's apprehension as a dangerous alien enemy at this tine. Although not stated in the above report, _ OF Sszistant United States Attorney DI GIROLAMO‘’s office read the Department's commnication relative thereto, to the Agent who re~ ported the above matter. This letter contained no reference to any reason the Department might have had for not authorizing the issuance of a Prestdential worrant for mbiect's apprehension. As atated in my letter dated July 10, 1943, the activities of the subject are being followed in oonnection with the investi ga- tion of the case entitled GEES, and instent case is being carried in a closed status.
