BASQUE ORGANIZATIO does no need money for their services and would be glad to continue working with this office without the-$250.00 US ($436525 pests) monthly payment which is being alloted to them by the office of the President in New York City. He further stated that he hopes to be able to increase the coverage of the BASQUE ORGANIZATION and that if he is able to do so, it would not necessitate additional monthly payments by this office. Le Ree by stating he would prepare a letter advising President-aGuiRRE of -his wi ness to work with this office-on the above basis. anibiiamns w: advised that in the event he desires to communicate with President AGUIRRE through facilities available to us this office will gladly assist him. In view of the foregoing it 1s contemplated that in the future payments will be made to the BASQUE ORGANIZATION on the basis of $250.00 pesos ($145.27 US) per month together with expenses which may from time to time be incurred by them in carrying out specific investigations requested by this office. In the opinion of the writer the payments which are eurrently being made to the BASQUE ORGANIZATION are excessive and unless instructions are recétved to the contrary, the $250.00 US a ($436.25 pesos). ly payment .is being discontinued as of Cod February 1, 1945.
