SUBJECT: Cooperation with the Federal Task Force in Atlanta, Georgia D- /GeS/- He This is to inform you that Charles F. Rinkevich, head of the Law Enforcement Assistance Administration's office in Atlanta, has been designated by the Vice President and the Attorney General as coordinator of all Federal assistance to support the city of Atlanta's efforts in solving the problems arising from the murders of young black children. Although his role does not extend to directing the activities of Federal law enforcement or mediation agencies, his effectiveness does - reguire that he be kept informed by these agencies of all major developments and any other information which might be pertinent to his mission. The mission assigned to Mr. Rinkevich centers on identifying and facilitating various forms of financial assistance which Atlanta may need because of this crisis.
