investigate the anthrax letter attacks of September and October of 2001 which caused the death
of five people in Florida, New York, Connecticut, and the District of Columbia, and seriously
injuréd 17 others. We appreciate the assistance your office and the organization of USAMRIID
has provided the investigation, especially during the past week.
While the inventory search continues over the next few days, it would be helpful if
USAMRID would promptly make the following laboratory documents available for FB] agents
to review and copy as needed. The agents are interested in all laboratory notebooks and files
containing any reference to activities and research conducted on or involving the Ames strain of
Bacillus anthracis, including but not limited to the laboratory notebooks assigned to, or used by,
the following USAMRIID researchers:
